One of the Best Features is that this chair looks identical to an Adirondack chair, yet it sits at a proper chair height, and can even be used at a table. Older folks, or anyone with knee issues can get in and out of this chair as easy as a dining chair. This solves the only real dilemma the Adirondack ever had. It is now perfect!
It can be made from redwood or cedar, or southern yellow pine, or any dimensional lumber from the big box stores. It can also be built much more elegantly out of white oak or teak. And the unique design allows it to built from lumber with any thickness from 3/4" to 1-1/2" without any change to the plans!!
The plans are in pdf format and are easy to read and understand and include the curves laid out on a grid for ease of upscaling them to the curved piece. They are not the printed paper templates.
We do offer a set of Full Size templates printed on heavy cardstock if you would like to get them in addition to the plans. Although they are not required. It can save some time because the curved pieces will be drawn in full scale for you to cut out. This way you won’t have to scale them up by hand and hand draw them from the measurements on the plans. However you cannot get the templates unless you get the plans. They will be of no use without them.
